Tato práce se zabývá úspěšným zotavením Islandu z finanční krize, přičemž důraz je kladen na roli dvou referend, kterými Islanďané odmítli dohody o vyplacení garancí vkladatelům z Velké Británie a Nizozemí. První část práce je úvodem do problematiky finanční krize a sporu s britskou a nizozemskou vládou, druhá pak nahlíží na Island z makroekonomického pohledu a odhaluje jeho silné i slabé stránky. …more

This thesis deals with Icelandic successful recovery from financial crisis. The emphasis is put on the role played by the two referendums, by which Icelanders declined reimbursement agreements with United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
