The role of municipalities in elderly care in the district of Most

Abstract:

Současným demografickým trendem v zemích Evropské unie je populační stárnutí. Díky kvalitní zdravotní péči a výraznému zlepšování životních podmínek se lidé dožívají vyššího věku a podíl seniorské části obyvatelstva narůstá. Tento jev je ve své podstatě velmi pozitivní, avšak v souvislosti s procesem stárnutí se objevují u této věkové skupiny choroby stáří, dochází ke snížení mobility, sil a schopností soběstačnosti. Je samozřejmé, že tato skutečnost vyžaduje dostatečné zajištění speciálních sociálních služeb, jak z hlediska kapacity, tak i různorodosti. Péče o seniory (kromě služeb vyžadující zdravotní zabezpečení) je v převážné míře záležitostí obcí. Ve své bakalářské práci se zaměřuji na péči o seniory ve vybrané oblasti. Jejím cílem je vyhodnocení rozsahu a úrovně péče o seniory v okrese Most.

Abstract:

The current demographic trend in the countries of the European Union is population aging. Thanks to quality health care and a significant improvement in living conditions, people are living to an older age and the share of the senior part of the population is growing. This phenomenon is inherently very positive, but in connection with the aging process, diseases of old age appear in this age group, there is a reduction in mobility, strength and self-sufficiency. It goes without saying that this fact requires sufficient provision of special social services, both in terms of capacity and diversity. Care for the elderly (apart from services requiring health care) is largely a matter for municipalities. In my bachelor thesis I focus on the care of seniors in a selected area. Its aim is to evaluate the scope and level of care for the elderly in the Most district.
