Area of the Czechoslovakian fortification in Šatov, Affairs of the year 1938 in Šatov

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem Areál československého opevnění v Šatově a události roku 1938 se zabývá nejen těžkými a lehkými opevněními a jejich rozmístěním na šatovském území, ale snaží se také vystihnout celkovou situaci výstavby těchto opevnění, samotné financování a plány včetně kompetencí velitelských jednotek. Součástí této práce je také zmínka o samotné organizaci opevňovacích prací, tedy přesněji řečeno práce obsahuje popis velitelských organizací, její členy a samotné úkoly těchto členů, před zahájením výstavby pevnostních srubů. V podtitulu práce je uvedená zmínka o roku 1938, zde jsou nastíněné skutečné události, které se odehrávaly na území Šatova a v okolních vesnicích. Cílem bakalářské práce je představit významné mezníky v dějinách fortifikace Československa a představit úroveň vybavenosti a připravenosti Československého státu, před případnou československou-německou válkou. Bakalářská práce se nezabývá situací pouze na hranicích Československa, ale pohlíží na situaci také z pohledu nepřítele, v tomto případě především Německa.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis, titled The Czechoslovakia Fortress Area in Šatov and the Events of 1938, does not only discuss the heavy and light fortification and its location in the Šatov territory, but also tries to capture the overall situation concerning the construction of these fortifications, the financing and also the plans including the command units competencies. This work also mentions the fortification organization itself, or more precisely, the work includes the description of the command organizations, its members and the tasks of the members themselves before the strength cabins construction. The subtitle of this work mentions the year 1938, since that was the year of the events that happened in the Šatov territory and the surrounding villages, which are mentioned in this work . The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to introduce significant milestones in the history of the fortification of the Czechoslovakia and also to present the level of facilitation and the alert of the Czechoslovakia, in case of the Czechoslovak-German war. This bachelor’s thesis does not discuss the situation only on the borders of Czechoslovakia, but also analyses the situation from the enemy’s perspective, in this case especially Germany.
