Město Žatec má téměř tisíciletou tradici pěstování a zpracování chmele. Od roku 2007 je město zapsáno na Národním indikativním seznamu, což je první krok na cestě k zápisu na Seznam světového dědictví UNESCO. The town of Žatec has a tradition of growing and processing hops for almost a thousand years. Since 2007, the city has been listed on the National Indicative List, which is the first step on the way to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
