Use of laser scanning for object surveying

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím laserového skenování pro zaměření a dokumentaci historické dřevěné lávky přes řeku Svratku, přičemž klade důraz na proces vytváření přesných 3D modelů pro účely archivace, konzervace a restaurace. První část práce je věnována účelu a metodám zaměřování historických objektů, s detailním pohledem na dřevěné stavby. Zde jsou probrány různé techniky zaměřování, s hlavním zaměřením na výhody a aplikace laserového skenování ve srovnání s tradičními metodami. Druhá část popisuje metodiku a postup při tvoření 3D modelu, od sběru dat, přes jejich zpracování, až po finální vytvoření digitálního modelu a odvození technických výkresů a popisu objektu. Práce zdůrazňuje význam technologie laserového skenování pro zachování kulturního dědictví a představuje možnosti, jak digitální dokumentace může sloužit jako základ pro konzervační práce a jako nástroj pro vzdělávání a prezentaci veřejnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of laser scanning to locate and document a historic wooden footbridge over a river Svratka, focusing on the process of creating accurate 3D models for archiving, conservation and restoration purposes. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the purpose and methods of surveying historic buildings, with a detailed look at wooden structures. Here, different targeting techniques are discussed, with the main focus on the advantages and applications of laser scanning compared to traditional methods. The second part describes the methodology and process of creating a 3D model, from data collection and processing to the final creation of the digital model and the derivation of technical drawings and object descriptions. The thesis emphasizes the importance of laser scanning technology for the preservation of cultural heritage and presents the ways in which digital documentation can serve as a basis for conservation work and as a tool for public education and presentation.
