Abstract:
Cílem této bakalářské práce je vymezení a analýza užití funkcí modálního slovesa would na základě korpusové analýzy. V teoretická část popisuje významy would. Praktická část rozebírá užití jednotlivých funkcí na 300 příkladech získaných z British National Corpus (BNC) a Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA). Na závěr jsou prezentovány četnosti funkcí a jejich porovnání mezi BNC a COCA.
Abstract:
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to define and analyse usage of functions of modal verb would based on corpus analysis. The functions of would are described in the theoretical part. Practical part examines usage of individual functions on 300 examples which were acquired from the British National Corpus (BNC) and the Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA).
