Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na symbolickou rovinu vnímání korupce v České republice a vychází z konstruktivistické tradice výzkumu korupce. V práci je popsána problematika definice korupčního jednání a byla zdůrazněna nutnost zkoumání korupce v rámci jednotlivých diskurzů. Za pomocí využití teorie konceptuálních metafor Lakoffa a Johnsona je zde provedena analýza metafor korupce v pěti nejčtenějších českých online médiích v roce 2023. Je tak navázáno na existující analýzy metafor korupce v různých národních kontextech. Cílem je zjistit, jaké metafory korupce a v jaké míře je využívají česká online média a jak tyto metafory mohou zdůraznit nebo naopak zamlžit podstatu jednotlivých podob korupčního jednání. Zaměřuje se na zdrojové a cílové domény metafor a zkoumá jejich dopady na vnímání korupce a formování veřejného diskurzu.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the symbolic level of perception of corruption in the Czech Republic and follows the constructivist tradition of corruption research. It describes the problem of defining corrupt behaviour and emphasises the necessity of examining corruption within the framework of individual discourses. Using Lakoff and Johnson's theory of conceptual metaphors, an analysis of corruption metaphors in the five most read Czech online media in 2023 is conducted. This follows existing analyses of corruption metaphors in different national contexts. The aim is to find out which metaphors of corruption are used by Czech online media and to what extent, and how these metaphors can emphasize or, on the contrary, obscure the essence of particular forms of corrupt behaviour. It focuses on the source and target domains of metaphors and examines their impact on the perception of corruption and the shaping of public discourse.
