Abstract:

ABSTRAKTCílem této práce je popsat vliv plánování rodiny na lidský rozvoj ve vybraných oblastech regionu Brong Ahafo v Ghanì. K výzkumu byla použita sekundární data World Bank Data Centre a UNESCO. Porovnáním dat z regresního modelu a èasové øady byla získána následující zjištìní.Z hlediska ukazatelù regrese je tøeba poznamenat, že pouze dvì promìnné jsou negativnì ovlivnìné pøevládajícími metodami antikoncepce, vèetnì zvýšení poètu obyvatel a vdaných nebo uvìznìných žen ve vìku 15 až 49 let bez potøeby jakékoli metody pro plánování rodiny. Všechny koeficienty jsou významné, výše hodnoty koeficientu urèení (R-squared) je 99,6%. Výsledky výzkumu byly dále porovnány s výsledky podobných výzkumù, provedených v podobném rámci a v dalších zemích. Zejména tìch, které se týkaly subsaharské oblasti. Bylo zjištìno, že obecné závìry této práci odpovídají, zejména v otázce chybìjícího vzdìlání a dostupnosti antikoncepce v urèitém regionu v rozvojových zemích. S nìkterými studiemi jsou závìry shodné.Pøípady vìtších rodin vedly k nižší úspìšnosti dìtí v tìchto rodinách, zatímco u menších rodin platí opak. Výsledek prùzkumu také ukázal, že rodinná opatøení ve zkoumaných oblastech jsou ovlivnìna pøedevším sociálnì-ekonomickými prvky, jako je míra užívání antikoncepce, preference pohlaví èi úroveò pøíjmù, stejnì jako manželské pøíspìvky k rodinným pøíjmùm. Velikost rodiny má pro oblast Brong Ahafo své socioekonomické rozmìry, u vìtších rodin jsou viditelnìjší. Zpùsobuje to nižší pøíjmy, špatný zdravotní stav, nižší ekonomický a sociální statut. Výzkum proto podporuje menší velikost rodiny pro oblasti Brong Ahafo a okolí.

Abstract:

The principal aim of this study was to access the impact of family planning programme on the human development of selected areas in the BrongAhafo Region of Ghana. A secondary data from World Bank Data Centre and UNESCO for the region was used to investigate the matter. A regression model was fit on Time Series data and it was found from the model that: In terms of the sign of the regression coefficients is noted that only two variables influence negatively the prevalent contraceptive methods including in habitants increase and married or in-union women aged 15 to 49 years with the unmet need of any method for family planning. All the variables coefficients are significant and a high adjusted R-squared of 99.6%. The results of this work were further compared with results from other similar researchers conducted in almost similar research framework and in other countries especially those conducted in the Sub-Sahara region. Notably, a general inference was concluded to be at par with this work especially on the issue of inability of proper education and accessibility of contraceptive methods a common feature in some region in developing countries. Yet, with some studies, the conclusions are parallel.Also, cases of bigger family sizes have brought about lower instructive accomplishment of children in such families whereas the opposite holds for families of lesser family sizes. The outcome of the exploration likewise reasoned that family measure in the research areas are influenced mainly by socio-economic facets such as level of usage of contraceptive, preferences for gender, income level as well as spousal contributions to the income level of the family. Lesser family sizes as well as bigger family sizes have their ensuing socio-economic inferences for the BrongAhafo Region but the apparent is its negativities in respect of a biggersize of family. Thiscertainly culminates into lower incomes, poor health, economic life as well as lower social life. Therefore, the study encourages smaller family sizes for the BrongAhafo Regions and its environs.
