Peer support within the Police of the Czech Republic as a new direction in employee care

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá kolegiální podporou jakožto novým směrem psychologické péče o policisty ČR. Autor v práci vymezuje péči o policisty, zejména pak přehledně představuje strukturu a způsoby poskytování psychologických služeb v Policii ČR. Popisuje transformaci systému psychologických služeb z roku 2016, kterou byla kolegiální podpora oficiálně zařazena do struktury psychologické péče o policisty jako jeden ze tří hlavních pilířů (policejní psycholog, linka pomoci v krizi a kolegiální podpora). Autor zde také navrhuje a zdůvodňuje zařazení čtvrtého pilíře - krizové intervence. Kolegiální podpora obohacuje systém psychologické péče o snadněji dostupnou neformální psychickou podporu poskytovanou odborně vyškolenými policisty - "nepsychology". Podrobnější představení systému kolegiální podpory zahrnuje charakterizaci systému, jeho vývoj, cíle a podstatu zřízení tohoto systému v prostředí Policie ČR. Výzkumným šetřením provedeným formou dotazníku a strukturovaného rozhovoru je zjišťován současný stav kolegiální podpory pohledem poskytovatelů kolegiální podpory a v této problematice znalých expertů. Na základě takto získaných dat je zhodnocen přínos tohoto typu podpory a jeho případná rizika v kontextu péče o příslušníky PČR. Zjištěné skutečnosti autor dále doplňuje o návrhy na úpravy systému poskytování kolegiální podpory v Policii ČR.

Abstract:

This work deals with the topic collegial support. This means in practice a new trend in the psychological care of the police employees in the Czech Republic. The author explains in his work the care of the policemen. It is especially introduced the structure and ways of providing the psychological services in the police force of the Czech Republic. The work describes the system and its transformation in the psychological care in the sphere of the police employees. The system description has been in existence since the year 2016. From this point of time the collegial support was officially included into the psychological care of policemen as one of the three pillars (police psychologist, helpline in crisis and collegial support). The author also proposes in his work and gives reasons for the integration of such into the fourth pillar- crisis intervention. In general, this collegial support enriches the system of the psychological care. Thereby facilitating a form of informal psychological support. This service is provided with the help of educated policemen, who did not posses a university degree in psychology. The detailed introduction of the collegial support and its system includes, the characteristic of the system, its development, aims and the essence of the establishment of this system within the environment of the in institutional police of the Czech Republic. The practical section of this work consists of questionnaires, structural dialogue. With the assistance of these tools it has been reviled that the actual state of the collegial support. This has been demonstrated by people who participate in the collegial support. The detected realities author furthermore uses for evaluation of this kind of support and describes possible risks in the care of the police employees. The realities are furthermore added with the author´s suggestions and possible modification in the system of provision of collegial support for the police employees in the Czech Republic.
