Specific problems of etiquette in the hotel industry

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na specifické problémy etikety v hotelnictví s bližším zaměřením na izraelské a židovské hosty. Cílem práce je zjistit, zdali jsou hotely v České republice schopné poskytnout židům adekvátní podmínky pro jejich pobyt, a jestli židovská klientela opravdu stále vyžaduje specifické zacházení anebo již začíná být benevolentnější s příchodem modernizace. V analytické práci je provedený rozhovor, který vznikl na základě osobního, telefonického a e-mailového setkání s pracovníky, kteří pracují na různých pozicích v šesti hotelech v Praze. V závěru bakalářské práce je navrhnuto řešení, jakým způsobem lze zlepšit povědomí hoteliérů o židovské klientele a jejich zvyklostí a tím zlepšit poskytované služby. V práci jsou navrhnuty konkrétní kroky, které by měli být hotely schopny splnit v rámci poskytování služeb poskytnout izraelským hostům. V práci byla položena výzkumná otázka, jakým způsobem ovlivňuje hotely izraelská klientela a jakými způsoby se hotely připravují na tento typ zahraničních hostů? Výsledkem této práce je zjištění, že hotely v Praze, se stálou židovskou klientelou, se výrazně odlišují zejména v sektoru poskytování specifických služeb zmiňované klientele.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on specific problems of etiquette in hotel industry with a closer focus on Israeli and Jewish guests. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether hotels in the Czech Republic hotels in the Czech Republic are able to provide Jews with adequate conditions for their stay, and whether the Jewish clientele really still requires specific treatment or is it becoming more benevolent with the arrival of modernisation. In the analytical work, an interview is conducted which was based on personal, telephone and e-mail meetings with employees who work in various positions in six hotels in Prague. The thesis concludes by proposing a solution for how to to improve hoteliers' awareness of the Jewish clientele and their customs and thus improve the services provided. In the thesis are concrete steps are proposed that hotels should be able to fulfil in the provision of services to Israeli guests. The thesis posed the research question of how does hotels by the Israeli clientele and in what ways do hotels do hotels prepare for this type of foreign guests? The result of this thesis is the finding that hotels in Prague, with a permanent Jewish clientele, differ significantly, especially in the sector of the provision of specific services to this clientele.
