Námět Tance smrti prostřednictvím zobrazení personifikované Smrti, odvádějící zástupce různých pozemských stavů a povolání, tematizuje poselství mementa mori, akcentuje dobovou sociální problematiku a rovnost všech lidí v okamžiku odchodu ze života. While depicting the personified Death taking away various human states and jobs representatives, the Dance of Deat topic serve as a meaning of memento mori and social criticism, reminding of the general vanity of earthly life and evenness of all men.
