Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá trestem odnětí svobody z pohledu ochrany práv vězněných osob. Zaměřuje se na jednotlivé druhy rozhodovací činnosti vězeňské služby a kázeňské řízení. Stěžejní část je pak věnovaná ochraně práv ve správním a ústavním soudnictví, činnosti veřejného ochránce práv a státního zastupitelství. Práce se zabývá efektivitou ochrany práv odsouzených.
