Possibilities of physiotherapy for patients with torticollis

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou cervikální dystonie, dříve známé jako spastická torticollis. V úvodní části jsou popsány teorie vzniku nemoci, její projevy a možnosti farmakologické léčby. Dále je v teoretickém zpracování zahrnut přehled funkční anatomie páteře, kineziologie krční páteře a patokineziologie při onemocnění a přehled možností fyzioterapie k ovlivnění svalového tonu postižených svalů, posílení svalů jim opačných a k ovlivnění stabilizačních systémů. Předložená terapie zahrnuje symptomatickou léčbu, preventivní léčbu sekundárních změn a ovlivňuje posturální držení pro optimalizaci výchozího nastavení pohybových segmentů, kauzální léčba není prozatím možná. V praktické části je problematika prezentována kazuistikou pacienta s diagnózou dystonického tremoru u pravostranné torticollis.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of cervical dystonia, formerly known as spastic torticollis. The introductory part describes the theory of the disease, its manifestations and the possibilities of pharmacological treatment. Furthermore, the theoretical work includes an overview of functional spinal anatomy, cervical spine kinesiology and patho-kinesiology in diseases and an overview of the possibilities of physiotherapy to influence the muscular tone of the affected muscles, to strengthen the muscles of the opposite and to influence the stabilization systems. Present therapy includes symptomatic treatment, preventative treatment of secondary changes and it affects postural hold to optimize default of motions segments, causal treatment is not possible. In the practical part, the problem is presented by a case report of a patient with a diagnosis of dystonic tremor at right-hand torticollis.
