Analysis of hearing and guide dogs funding

Abstract:

Tato práce řeší oblast financování signálních a vodicích psů. Zaměřena je především na rozdíly mezi financováním a na přiblížení úkonů těchto pomocníků. Podstatnou částí jsou rovněž dvě kazuistiky majitelů, tedy osoby se sluchovým postižením i osoby se zrakovým postižením. Dosažené výsledky představují, zda pes skutečně představuje pro zmíněné osoby pomůcku, která jim usnadní život, a která by tím pádem měla být alespoň částečně hrazena státem, dovolí nám také nahlédnout hlouběji do procesu získávání psa. Výsledky bakalářské práce slouží k přiblížení problematiky a s tím spojené snahy o změny v prospěch osob se sluchovým postižením.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the aspects of guide and assistance dogs funding. It targets the differences among fundings and introduces the activites of the dogs in greater details. As a significant part of the thesis there are two examples of the dog owners, one being hearing impaired and the other visually impaired person. The achieved result prove whether the dog really is an aid for those people. It shows whether such aid makes their lives easier and thus it should be cofinanced by state. The thesis enables us to see the process of obtaining the dog. The outputs of the thesis help to explain the issues of hearing (or visually) impaired people and the efforts for changes in favour of these people.
