The quality of life of old people after percutaneous coronary intervention

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zjistit kvalitu života u seniorů před zákrokem perkutánní koronární intervence a minimálně 3 měsíce po zákroku. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 131 respondentů, kteří byli hospitalizovaní na lůžkovém oddělení I. interní kliniky Fakultní nemocnice v Olomouci, a kteří podstoupili perkutánní koronární intervenci. Dotazníkové šetření probíhalo v měsících listopad 2014 ? květen 2015 a bylo realizováno standardizovanými dotazníky WHOQOL-OLD a SF-36, které vyhodnocují zjišťovanou kvalitu života. Z výsledků výzkumu vyplývá, že senioři, kteří podstoupili PCI, měli horší kvalitu života než běžná populace. Kvalita života závisí na věku. Horší kvalitu života mají senioři ve vyšších věkových skupinách. Muži mají lepší kvalitu života než ženy. Senioři, kteří postoupili PCI, měli lepší kvalitu života před PCI v doménách (pro oba dotazníky): fyzické funkce, vitalita, všeobecné vnímání vlastního zdraví. Lepší kvalitu života po PCI měli senioři v doménách: fyzické omezení rolí, emoční omezení rolí funkce, naplnění, sociální zapojení, smrt a umírání. Z údajů získaných v rámci výzkumu vyplývá, že kvalita života se u seniorů před perkutánní koronární intervencí lišila od stavu po PCI. Pacienti jsou v některých oblastech svého životního stylu ochotni přistoupit na změny a zmírnit rizikové faktory, které působí na jejich zdraví, ale hlavně ty, které považují za nejrizikovější.

Abstract:

The aim of thesis was determine the quality of life in elderly patients prior to the surgery of percutaneous coronary infection and at least 3 months after the surgery. The research sample consisted of 131 respondents who were hospitalised in the ward I. of the Internal Clinic of the Faculty Hospital in Olomouc and who underwent the percutaneous coronary intervention. The questionnaire was conducted during the months of November 2014 until May 2015 and was implemented through standardised questionnaires WHOQOL-OLD and SF-36 which evaluated the researched quality of life. The research results show that seniors who underwent PCI had a inferior quality of life compared to the general population. Quality of life depends on age. Worse quality of life of seniors can be found in higher age groups. Men have a better quality of life than women. Seniors who qualify for the PCI had better quality of life before the PCI in following domains (for both questionnaires): physical function, vitality, general health perceptions of their own. Better quality of life after the PCI are in the following domains: physical limitations roles, emotional role limitations functionality, fulfilment, social inclusion, death and dying. The data obtained from the research shows that the quality of life of seniors before percutaneous coronary interventions differed from the state after the PCI. Patients in some areas of their lifestyle willing to embrace the change and to mitigate the risk factors that affect their health, especially those deemed risky.
