The problems of coexistence between majority and national and ethnic minority

Abstract:

Ač je to s podivem, rasismus je i v současné době jedním z největších problémů lidstva. I v České republice jsou s tímto fenoménem velké problémy, zejména ve vztahu majorita {--} romská minorita. Zatímco majoritní obyvatelstvo vyznává typickou středoevropskou kulturu, Romové již po staletí preferují kult přírody a uznávají rodové klany. Nad zákony České republiky staví zákony vlastní. Mezi majoritou a romskou minoritou vládne neporozumění, objevují se i prvky rasismu. Po dlouhá staletí se nedaří nalézt cestu, která by vedla ke sblížení těchto dvou kultur a vytvoření vztahů vzájemné rovnosti a pochopení. Ve své bakalářské práci jsem se pokusil zjistit, jaké jsou současné vzájemné vztahy těchto dvou skupin obyvatel. Na území města Ostravy a v jeho nejbližším okolí jsem provedl výzkum, který mi přinesl překvapivé informace. Mohu konstatovat, že i přesto, že s Romy pracuji již celých 30. let, studiem a provedeným výzkumem jsem zjistil takové skutečnosti, na základě kterých jsem si značně poopravil svůj názor na tuto problematiku. Mám za to, že již byla nastolená cesta k většímu vzájemnému porozumění mezi těmito skupinami občanů České republiky a bude jen na nás, jak s tímto problémem naložíme. Zda dojde k vzájemnému porozumění, či se budeme ubírat cestou nesnášenlivosti, vzájemných střetů a útoků na občany opačné skupiny.

Abstract:

It is the surprising fact that racism is one of the biggest problem of the humankind. Even in the Czech Republic this phenomenon causes huge problems, especially in relation to majority {--} gipsy minority. While the majority of the population follows typical central European culture, gipsies have preferred the cult of nature for centuries and have been considering tribal culture as the best. Gipsies implement their own law regardless of law of the Czech Republic. Between the majority and the minority huge discrepancies and disputes exist, even the aspects of racism appear. It is not easy to succeed in finding out the way of the mutual understanding of these cultures and finding up relation of mutual equality and understanding. In my Bachelor work I have been trying to find out mutual relation between these two groups of inhabitants. On the area of the Ostrava city and its nearest neighbourhood I have done the research which have brought surprising information. I should admit that even I have been working with gipsy minority for thirty years I have found out such facts during my studies and research which led into changing my own opinion of these problems. I am convinced that the way to bigger mutual understanding was already set. And it is entirely up to our society to avoid misunderstanding and strengthen mutual cooperation. Or to choose the way of hate, reciprocal conflicts and attacts on inhabitants of the opposing group.
