Feminist perspective on Orientalism

Abstract:

This thesis explores the relationship between feminist perspectives and Orientalism in the context of the status of women in Oriental countries. It analyses the history and development of feminism and Orientalism, focusing on the stereotyping and colonisation of Oriental women. Examines the status of women in specific countries - Egypt, India and China, including current initiatives for gender equality. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of this relationship and to contribute to the debate on cultural and social change in favour of gender equality.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca skúma vzťah medzi feministickým pohľadom a Orientalizmom v kontexte postavenia žien v Orientálnych krajinách. Analyzuje históriu a vývoj feminizmu a Orientalizmu, zameriava sa na stereotypy a kolonizáciu orientálnych žien. Preskúma postavenie žien v konkrétnych krajinách - Egypte, Indii a Číne, vrátane aktuálnych iniciatív pre rodovú rovnosť. Cieľom je hlbšie pochopiť tento vzťah a prispieť k diskusii o kultúrnej a sociálnej zmene v prospech genderovej rovnosti.
