Possibilities of visual functions screening in people with intellectual disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá možnostmi screeningu zrakových funkcí u osob s mentálním postižením. První část se zaměřuje na seznámení s pojmem mentální postižení. Vše, co zahrnuje, včetně rozdělení, za jakých predispozic může vznikat a projevovat se. Jak předcházet vzniku mentálního postižení a co dělat pro rozvoj a léčbu jedince s tímto postižením. Zahrnuje i vizuální percepci u osob s mentálním postižením a ukázky testů. Ve druhé části práce jsou specifikovány určité syndromy a choroby, které postihují mentální zdraví jedince a mají vliv na jeho zrak. Třetí část práce je věnována screeningovým testům a průběhu vyšetření, kde jsou popsány nejčastější testy pro screeningová vyšetření zraku a zároveň možnost využití těchto testů u osob s mentálním postižením. Cílem bakalářské práce je poukázat na možnosti screeningu zraku u mentálně postižených osob a zhodnotit užití testů na Speciální olympiádě v Olomouci.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of possibilities of visual functions screening in people with intellectual disabilities. The first part focuses on getting acquainted with the very concept of mental disability. What it entails, how is a mental disability divided, the predisposition under which it can arise and manifest, how to prevent, what to do to develop and treat an individual with an intellectual disability, and how society sees that disability. It also includes visual perception in people with mental disabilities and test demonstrations. The second part of the thesis describes certain syndromes and diseases that affect an individual's mental health while damaging their vision. The third part of the thesis is devoted to screening tests and examinations where individual tests for vision screening and the possibility of applying these tests to people with mental disabilities are discussed. The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to highlight the possibilities of eyescreening in the people with mental disabilities and to ecaluate the use of tests at the Special Olympics in Olomouc.
