Soft Skills of Students of Career Guidance, Counselling and Education

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo přiblížit měkké dovednosti, jejich charakteristiku, význam a členění. Dále pak konkrétně zjistit současný stav měkkých dovedností a jejich význam u studentů Institutu vzdělávání a poradenství zaměřených na kariérové poradenství a vzdělávání. V teoretické části práce bylo charakterizováno poradenství, kariérové poradenství, pojem soft skills a rozdělení měkkých kompetencí. Dále bylo blíže definováno 15 měkkých kompetencí dle volně dostupné Centrální databáze kompetencí, kterou spravuje Ministerstvo práce a sociálních věcí České republiky. Následovně byl přiblížen rozvoj měkkých kompetencí. V praktické části bylo realizováno anonymní dotazníkové šetření. Dotazník byl distribuován elektronicky vysokoškolským studentům a absolventům prezenčního a kombinovaného studia kariérového poradenství a vzdělávání. Z dotazníkového šetření vyplynulo, že studenti kariérového poradenství a vzdělávání považují efektivní komunikaci za nejdůležitější z měkkých kompetencí. Dalšími důležitými dovednostmi jsou kooperace a aktivní přístup. Naopak nejméně důležitými kompetencemi podle studentů je vedení lidí a ovlivňování ostatních. Dále bylo zjištěno, že převážná část studentů by ráda dosáhla vyšší úrovně kompetencí, než je jejich aktuální.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to present soft skills, their characteristics, meaning and breakdown. Then specifically to find out the current status of soft skills and their importance among the students of the Institute of Education and Counselling focusing on career counselling and education. In the theoretical part of the thesis, counseling, career counseling, the concept of soft skills and the division of soft skills were characterized. Furthermore, 15 soft competences were defined in more detail according to the freely available Central Database of Competences managed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. Subsequently, the development of soft competences was presented. In the practical part, an anonymous questionnaire survey was carried out. The questionnaire was distributed electronically to university students and graduates of full-time and combined studies of career counselling and education. The questionnaire survey revealed that career counseling and education students consider effective communication as the most important of the soft competencies. Other important skills are cooperation and proactive attitude. On the other hand, the least important competencies according to the students are leading people and influencing others. It was also found that the majority of students would like to achieve a higher level of competencies than their current level.
