Autor práce definuje pojem efektivnosti práva a podává základní přehled různých přístupů k efektivnosti. Na úvodní teoretický výklad navazuje teorie efektivnosti trestního práva a aplikace těchto poznatků na současnou trestněprávní úpravu v České republice.
