Using conversation maps in diabetes education from the perspective of nurse

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Využití konverzačních map v edukaci diabetiků z pohledu sestry" se snaží poukázat na způsoby edukace, které ovlivňují znalosti a dovednosti pacientů s diabetem mellitem, přispívá tím ke snazšímu pochopení tohoto onemocnění a bližší seznámení s nemocí, konkrétními možnostmi řešení v rámci léčby a vtáhnutí nemocného do dění nemoci. Teoretická část práce se skládá se základních informací o diabetu, o jeho příznacích, příčinách, komplikacích a léčbě. Rozděluje jednotlivé typy diabetu a snaží se ukázat nové, moderní trendy ve studiu o diabetu. V druhé teoretické části jsem se zaměřila na edukační proces obecně a dále na cílenou edukaci orientovanou na diabetiky z pohledu sestry, včetně nových edukačních trendů. V praktické části představuji kvalitativní výzkum, který jsem si zvolila pro jeho rozsáhlejší a intenzivnější kontakt s diabetiky. Výzkumu se zúčastní tři respondenti, které jsem představila formou případové studie, jedná se o pacienty z diabetologické ambulance v Chomutově. Sběr dat jsem realizovala pomocí polo strukturovaného rozhovoru s těmito respondenty po absolvování jednotlivých edukací, které jsme společně prováděli v diabetologické ambulanci v průběhu roku 2015. Cílem mého šetření je zjistit názory, zkušenosti a znalosti o diabetu u sledovaných respondentů, kteří absolvovali individuální diabetické edukace a skupinového edukačního programu projektem "Konverzace o diabetu" pomocí edukačních konverzačních map. Tyto mapy byly vyvinuty společností Healthy Interactions v USA a v roce 2008 je schválila pro použití v evropských zemích i evropská pobočka Mezinárodní diabetická federace IDF Europe. V závěru práce doporučuji využití při edukaci diabetiků pomůcku konverzačních map a to nejen v diabetologických ambulancích, ale i v průběhu hospitalizace diabetika.

Abstract:

Bachelor's thesis titled "Leveraging conversational map in terms of diabetes education nurse" tries to show the methods of education that affect the knowledge and skills of patients with diabetes mellitus, thus contributing to easier understanding of the disease and more familiar with the disease , specific solution options for the treatment of the sick and the pull-in into the affairs of the disease . The theoretical part consists of basic information about diabetes, its symptoms, causes, complications and treatment, distributes various types of diabetes, trying to show the modern trends in the study of diabetes. The second theoretical part I focused on the educational process in general and for targeted education-oriented diabetics from the perspektive of nurses, including new educational trends. In the practical part is a qualitative research that I have chosen for his extensive and intensive contact with diabetics. Research will participate in three respondents who I presented a case study, it is a patient of diabetes clinic in Chomutov. Data collection was realized through semi structured interviews with these respondents after completing the education of the individual, which we jointly carried out the diabetes clinic during 2015. The goal of my investigation is to ascertain the views, experiences and knowledge about diabetes in the monitored respondents after completing individual diabetes education and group educational program project "Conversation about diabetes" through educational conversational maps that were developed by Healthy Interactions in the US and in 2008 agreed to use in European countries and the European branch of the International Diabtes Federation-IDF Europe. In conclusion, I recommend to use in educating diabetics conversational utility maps not only in diabetics ambulances, but also during hospitalization diabetic.
