Expressing the Future Tense and Modality in English and Czech: Translation Equivalents of "Will" and "Be going to"
Abstract:
This thesis deals with the topic of future tense in English, it focuses on the distributional differences between "will" and "be going to". Problematic areas, such as usage of these two expressions in conditional sentences or with specific time adverbs, is examined on data from two corpora - BNC and COCA.Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá vyjádřením budoucího času v angličtině, konkrétně se zaměřuje na rozdíly v užití mezi výrazy "will" a "be going to". Sporné oblasti, jako je použití těchto výrazů v podmínkových větách nebo s konkrétními příslovci času zkoumá na datech z korpusů BNC a COCA.
