Artistic Modification of Landscape

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Umělecké proměny krajiny se zabývá dialogem mezi člověkem a krajinou - jak krajinu vnímáme, jaké vztahy s ní vedeme, jak ji jako jedinec, ale i společnost jako celek ovlivňujeme, a naopak jaký impakt má krajina na bytí lidského jedince. Krajinu interpretuji podle antropologických a sociokulturních zaměření. Dále krajinu popisuji jako inspiraci a prostor pro umělecké vyjadřování, kde definuji a popisuji land artové umělecké hnutí ve světovém kontextu, dále zemní umění na českém území, k čemuž dodávám velkou pozornost politické situaci, tedy historickému diskurzu. Obracím se tedy na 60. - 80. léta 20. století, kde nacházím určité umělecké přístupy, které inovativně rozděluji do dvou odvětví. Je to umění s krajinou a umění v krajině, které vysvětluji prostřednictvím dobových uměleckých děl. Pozornost také věnuji uměleckým intervencím do krajiny, různým projektům z 2. pol. 20. století, načež popisuji tyto intervence v dění současnosti. Beru tento můj výzkum jako jeden velký kompaktní projekt, tedy v této práci nechávám místo i na texty mých osobních autorských kurátorských přesahů. Tento moment také překlenuji do kapitoly, kde rozebírám pozici současného kurátora. Zaměřuji se zejména na současné přístupy využívané v oboru kurátorství - osvětluji tím tedy osobní styl práce prezentující krajinu.

Abstract:

The master thesis entitled Artistic Modification of Landscape deals with the dialogue between man and landscape - how we perceive the landscape, what kind of relations we have with it, how we influence it as an individual, but also as a whole society, and on the contrary what impact the landscape has on the human being. I analyze landscape according to anthropological and sociocultural orientations. Furthermore, I describe the landscape as an inspiration and space for artistic expression, where I define and describe the land art movement, as well as land art on Czech territory, to which I add a great deal of attention to the political situation, i.e. historical discourse. My focus is on the years 1960-1980, where I find certain artistic approaches, which I innovatively divide into two sectors. These are art with landscape and art in landscape, which I help to explain through certain artworks by artists based on the period written about above. I also pay attention to artistic interventions in the landscape, various projects from the second half of the 20th century, after which I describe these interventions in the scene of the present. I take this research of mine as one big compact project. In this thesis are for texts of my personal curatorial overlaps. I also bridge this moment into the chapters on the contemporary curator, i.e. what type of activity the author performs and what aspects have caused the transformation and creation of the approaches used in the field of curating now - thus illuminating my approaches held in line with the presentation of art in the landscape, with the landscape.
