The focus of my thesis is a theory of adaptation and how it is manifested in three literary adaptations of William Shakespeare's plays The Tempest, The Winter's Tale, and Midsummer's Night Dream and their corresponding contemporary adaptations written by Margaret Atwood, Hag-Seed, Jeanette Winterson, The Gap of Time, and Angela Carter, Wise Children.
