Family Business of the Year competition and its impact on family businesses

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá soutěží Rodinná firma roku, kterou pořádá Asociace malých a středních podniků ČR. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaký vliv má soutěž na zúčastněné firmy a navrhnout zlepšení fungování soutěže. Teoretická část je zaměřená na rodinné podniky, jejich historii, fungování a konflikty mezi rodinnými příslušníky a problematiku generačního předání. V analytické části bylo pomocí pěti polostrukturovaných rozhovorů zjištěno, jak jsou se soutěží spokojeny tři firmy, které se jí zúčastnily a jak soutěž probíhá z pohledu generální ředitelky asociace AMSP ČR a projektové manažerky. Na základě analýzy jsou stanovena doporučení pro pořadatele soutěže, která by pomohla k větší spokojenosti soutěžících a propagaci soutěže.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the Family Firm of the Year competition, which is organized by the Association of Small and Medium Companies of the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to find out what effect the competition has on the participating companies and to propose an improvement in the functioning of the competition. The theoretical part is focused on family businesses, their history, functioning and conflicts between family members and the issue of generational transmission. In the analytical part, with the help of five semi-structured interviews, it was determined how satisfied the three participating companies are with the competition and how the competition is going from the point of view of the general director of the AMSP CR association and the project manager. On the basis of the analysis, recommendations are established for the organizers of the competition, which would help to increase the satisfaction of the competitors and the promotion of the competition.
