Ethical dilemmas of workers when working with people with Alzheimer´s disease and senile dementia

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce na téma "Etická dilemata pracovníků při práci s osobami s Alzheimerovou chorobou a stařeckou demencí" bylo poukázat, s jakými etickými dilematy se setkávají pracovníci s danou cílovou skupinou. Výzkum byl určen jak pro sociální pracovníky, tak pracovníky v sociálních službách (pečovatel/ka). S etickými dilematy se nemusí setkat pouze sociální pracovníci, ale i pracovníci v sociálních službách. Pro sběr dat byla zvolena technika polostrukturovaného rozhovoru v rámci kvalitativního výzkumu. Výsledky naznačují, že pojem etická dilemata pracovníkům v sociálních službách nic neříká, přesto jsou to této problematiky vtaženi. Nejčastěji jsou vztaženi do problematiky pracovník versus klient. A i když jejich kompetence nejsou zcela na stejné úrovni jako u sociálních pracovníků, přesto se snaží některá dilemata vyřešit vlastní cestou.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis on the topic "Ethical dilemmas of workers when working with people with Alzheimer's disease and senile dementia" was to point out what ethical dilemmas are encountered by workers with the target group. The research was intended for both social workers and social service workers (caregiver). Ethical dilemmas may not only be faced by social workers, but also by social service workers. The technique of a semi-structured interview within the qualitative research was chosen for data collection. The results indicate that the concept of ethical dilemmas does not mean anything to social service workers, yet they are drawn into this issue. Most often, they are related to the issue of worker versus client. And even though their competencies are not quite at the same level as those of social workers, they still try to solve some dilemmas on their own.
