Mnohočetný myelom je hematoonkologické onemocnění charakterizované klonální proliferací maligních plazmatických buněk v kostní dřeni. Agresivnější formou mnohočetného myelomu s dosud neobjasněnou patogenezí je extramedulární onemocnění, při němž dochází k diseminaci myelomových buněk z kostní dřeně a vzniku nádorů v jiných tkáních a orgánech. Multiple myeloma is a hematooncological disease characterized by clonal proliferation of malignant plasma cells in the bone marrow. A more aggressive form of multiple myeloma with as yet unclear pathogenesis is an extramedullary disease, in which myeloma cells disseminate from the bone marrow and form tumours in other tissues and organs.
