User preferences for authentication methods

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje problematice autentizačních metod a jejich preferencí. Cílem práce je vyhodnocení preferencí autentizačních metod uživateli systémů uchovávající aktiva. Pro dosažení daného cíle je proveden vlastní výzkum. Na základě metodiky výzkumu je vytvořen dotazník, který byl rozeslán studentům informačních technologií. Dále práce prezentuje získané výsledky a využívá je ke shrnutí závěrů. Nejdůležitějším závěrem je, že studenti preferují osvědčené metody autentizace, u kterých mnohdy upřednostňují rychlost zpřístupnění a uživatelskou přívětivost před více bezpečnými metodami.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the problem of authentication methods and their preferences. The aim of this work is to evaluate user preferences for authentication methods used by systems storing assets. To achieve that we have performed our own research. A methodology was determined and a questionnaire was distributed to perform a survey among students of information technologies. This work presents collected results and use them to make conclusions. The most important conclusion is that students prefer proven methods and methods with quick usage and good user experience instead of more secure methods.
