Frontex and its Role in Role in Ensuring External Security

Abstract:

V dnešní době je důležitá ochrana suverenity států EU, která úzce souvisí a závisí na ochraně vnějších hranic a vnitřní bezpečnosti. V schengenském prostoru EU byly vytvořeny různé nástroje a agentury např. FRONTEX, které spolupracují při provádění kontrol s cílem řídit překračování vnějších hranic a řešit migrační výzvy.Abychom správně porozuměli důležité úloze, kterou Frontexvykonává, je diplomová práce rozdělena do několika hlavních částí. První část se hlouběji zabývá ochranou hranic v EU, potažmo v ČR. Další část rozebírá hlavní úkoly a roli agentury Frontex v rámci EU. Jak funguje agentura Frontex v ČR a jaké jsou zkušenosti, názory účastníků misí? Na tuto otázku odpovídají další části diplomové práce. Není zde pouze teoretické podání důležitosti agentury, ale formou kazuistik jsou v diplomové práci vloženy názory účastníků misí a služebních zahraničních cest, které ovlivnily jejich pohled na migrační politiku a důležitost ochrany vnějších hranic.

Abstract:

Today it is important to protect the sovereignty of EU countries which is closely linked and depends on the protection of external borders and internal security. Various instruments have been developed in the EU Schengen area and agencies such as FRONTEX have been set up in the EU Schengen area to cooperate in carrying out controls, aimed to manage the crossing of external borders and deal with migration challenges. In order to understand the important role that Frontex does, the thesis is divided into several main parts. The first part is deeply concerned with the protection of borders in the EU and in the Czech Republic. The next part analyzes the main tasks and role of Frontex within the EU. How does Frontex work in the Czech Republic and what is the experience and opinions of mission participants? This question is answered in the next part of the thesis. There is not only the theoretical submission of the Agency´s importance, but, in the form of case reports, the diploma thesis includes the views of mission participants and business trips abroad, that influenced their view of migration policy and the importance of external border protection.
