Frustration tolerance of pupils at primary schools

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá způsobem výchovy v rodině, psychickou zátěží, frustrací a odolností k ní. Ústředním cílem je zjistit míru psychické odolnosti žáků prvního stupně základních škol vůči překážkám v závislosti na způsobu výchovy v rodině. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na objasnění pojmu rodina a způsob výchovy, psychickou zátěž a stres v kontextu frustrace, dále odolnost, resilienci a frustrační toleranci. V úzké návaznosti na jejich vymezení je následně v empirické části prezentováno zpracování dat získaných pomocí metody Dotazníku o způsobu výchovy v rodině od autorů Čápa a Boschka (1994) a metody pozorování při plnění úkolu, jehož podstatou je skládání tangramu. Zkoumaný vzorek tvoří 117 respondentů, kterými jsou žáci páté třídy prvního stupně základní školy. Na základě získaných dat je vyhodnocena nejen míra zjištěného vlivu, ale současně jsou objasněny i možné příčiny získaných výsledků, které by mohly být podnětem k optimalizaci zjišťovaného jevu. Z výsledků našeho výzkumu vyplývá, že způsob výchovy nemá vliv na míru frustrační tolerance. Práce však poukazuje na skutečnost, že optimální způsob výchovy se jeví jako nejvhodnější způsob výchovy pro budování psychické odolnosti dítěte. Dále jsme prokázali vliv emočního vztahu v rodině na míru frustrační tolerance žáka, z čehož vyplývá, že žáci, k nimž mají rodiče kladný emoční vztah, mají vyšší frustrační toleranci než žáci z rodin se záporným emočním vztahem.

Abstract:

This Thesis deals with the method of upbringing within the family, and the psychic load, frustration and resistance to it. The principal goal is to identify the extent of the psychic resistance of pupils of the 1st grade of basic schools to the psychic load in dependence on the style of control in the family. The theoretical part aims at the clarification of the notion of family, and the method of upbringing, psychic load and stress in the context of frustration, and, furthermore, resistance, resilience and frustration tolerance. In close association with the definition of them, the processing of the data obtained using the method of Questionnaire on the method of upbringing in the family from the authors Čáp and Boschek (1994) and the methods of observation when fulfilling the task the principle of which is composing a tangram, are presented. The sample examined comprises 117 respondents being pupils of the fifth year of the first grade of basic school. Based on the data obtained not only the rate of the influence identified is assessed, but at the same time the possible causes of the results obtained are clarified which could be the impulse for the optimizing of the phenomenon scrutinized. From the results of our research it implies that the method of education has no influence upon the amount of frustration tolerance. The thesis refers to the fact that the optimum method of education proves to be the most suitable method of education for building the psychic resistance of the child. In addition we proved the influence of the emotional relation in the family upon the amount of the frustration tolerance of the pupil, from which it implies that pupils, to whom the parents have a positive emotional relation, have a higher frustration tolerance than pupils from families with a negative emotional relation.
