Influence of gender to cerumen composition

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce je složena ze dvou částí. První částí je experiment, týkající se separace lipidů z ušního mazu metodou tenkovrstevné chromatografie. Druhá část byla věnována statistickému zpracování naměřených dat, ve které byly vyšetřovány jednotlivé frakce lipidů ušního mazu v závislosti na pohlaví a následně také v závislosti na věku. Pomocí metod hlavních komponent, faktorové analýzy a analýzy shluků byla určena podobnost mezi jednotlivými vyšetřovanými znaky a mezi vyšetřovanými objekty. Hotellingovým testem shodnosti vektoru středních hodnot vícerozměrných dat byla určena statistická významnost změn lipidových frakcí mezi pohlavím a změn mezi jednotlivými dekádami. Po zhodnocení výsledků experimentu lze konstatovat, že množství jednotlivých složek lipidů se v závislosti na pohlaví neliší. Naopak bylo zjištěno, že lipidové složky cerumina se mění v závislosti na věkových dekádách. Statisticky významné se ukázaly být volné mastné kyseliny, a to mezi první věkovou dekádou a všemi ostatními dekádami. Práce přináší nové poznatky v problematice změn složení lipidových složek cerumina v závislosti na věku a pohlaví.

Abstract:

The presented graduation theses is composed of two parts. The first part brings an experiment regarding the lipide separation from the cerumen by the thin-layer chromatography method. The second part is related to a statistical treatment of measured data. Particular lipide fractions of cerumen depending upon sex and age were analysed and compared. With the use of methods of principal components, factor analysis and cluster analysis, the similarity between particular characters and objects has been determined. Statistical significance of lipide fractions changes, depending upon sex and particular decades, has been determined by the average vector test. The summary of the experiment brings a conclusion that there is no diference in quantity of lipide particular components in dependence on sex. Another conclusion says that lipide elements of cerumen are changing in dependence on age decades. Fatty acids turned out to be statistically relevant, specifically amines the first age decade and others. The theses brings new knowledge in problems of lipide components of cerumen changes depending upon sex and age.
