Po skončení sedmileté války se pro britské osady na pobřeží Severní Ameriky mohla otevřít možnost rozmachu a expanze díky tomu, že z bojiště zmizel jejich hlavní protivník Francie. Velká Británie se ale po tomto konfliktu nacházela v obrovských dluzích, na jejichž splacení se snažila najít všemožné prostředky. After the end of the Seven Years' War the British settlements on the coast of North America could be opened for new expansion thanks to the disappearance of their main rival France. Great Britain, however, was in huge debt after this conflict. It was trying to find all possible means to pay it off.
