Quality of life of the patient after lower limb amputation

Abstract:

Pro svou bakalářskou práci jsem si vybrala téma "Kvalita života pacienta po amputaci dolní končetiny". Cílem bylo porovnat úroveň kvality života před a po amputaci, a zda může zdravotnický personál ovlivnit kvalitu života pacienta. V teoretické části popisuji charakteristiku amputací, příčiny amputace, druhy amputace, ošetřovatelskou péči před a po amputaci, rehabilitační proces a možnosti protetické náhrady. V praktické části se zabývám kvalitativním průzkumem, ve kterém jsem se zaměřila na změnu kvality života pacienta po amputaci dolní končetiny, a jakým způsobem může zdravotnický personál ovlivnit kvalitu života pacienta v pooperačním období a v průběhu rehabilitace z pohledu pacienta. Průzkum byl prováděn formu zpracování kazuistik. Po zhodnocení výsledků průzkumu jsem zhotovila návrh Guideline pro zdravotnický personál, který má sloužit ke zlepšení poskytované psychické podpory, porozumění pacientovi a lépe pomoci pacientovi vrátit se k životnímu standardu před amputací. Práce zhodnocuje pacientův pohled na životní situaci, důležitost psychické podpory a účast zdravotnického personálu na zkvalitnění jejich života.

Abstract:

For my bachelor's thesis, I chose the topic "Quality of life of patients after amputation of the lower limb". The aim was to compare the level of quality of life before and after amputation, and whether medical staff can influence a patient's quality of life. In the theoretical part, I describe the characteristics of amputations, causes of amputation, types of amputation, nursing care before and after amputation, rehabilitation process and possibilities of prosthetic replacement. In the practical part, I deal with a qualitative survey, in which I focused on the change in a patient's quality of life after amputation of the lower limb, and how medical staff can influence a patient's quality of life in the postoperative period and during rehabilitation from patient's point of view. The survey was carried out in the form of processing case reports. After evaluating the results of the survey, I drafted a Guideline for medical staff, which is intended to improve the provided psychological support, understanding patient and better help patient to return to the standard of living before the amputation. The work evaluates patient's view of the life situation, the importance of psychological support and the participation of medical personnel in improving the quality of their lives.
