Key competencies of third-year students in the field of Social work

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá úrovní klíčových kompetencí u studentů prezenční a kombinované formy studia ve třetím ročníku oboru Sociální práce na Fakultě sociálně ekonomické, Univerzity Jana Evangelisty Purkyně v Ústí nad Labem. Cílem této práce je identifikace úrovně klíčových kompetencí u studentů studijního programu Sociální politika a sociální práce, ve vztahu k požadavkům zaměstnavatelů a ve vztahu k potřebám cílových skupin. Cíl byl splněn kvantitativní metodou za pomoci dotazníkového šetření, jehož součástí byl i test klíčových kompetencí. Úroveň klíčových kompetencí byla porovnána s výsledky bakalářské práce z roku 2019 od Z. Kašpárkové. Prostřednictvím výzkumného šetření bylo zjištěno, že mají prezenční studenti úroveň klíčových kompetencí nadprůměrnou, ačkoliv se v porovnání s výsledky od Z. Kašpárkové úroveň v šesti klíčových kompetencí značně snížila. Podprůměrnou klíčovou kompetencí je stále kreativita, u které sami studenti pociťují, že je potřeba tuto kompetenci zlepšit, ale i schopnost zdůvodňovat je zaznamenána jako podprůměrná. Přínosem této práce jsou realizovatelné změny a opatření ve formách a způsobech výuky v tomto studijním programu, které jsou navrženy na základě vybraných informací. Změny jsou navrženy z důvodu zvýšení uplatnitelnosti absolventů na trhu práce. Na základě výsledků jsou doporučena tzv. "brainstormingová sezení" především k rozvoji kreativity, ale tato sezení mohou rozvíjet i jiné kompetence. Také jsou doporučena zvýšení počtu hodin absolvovaných na odborných praxích či jejich zavedení do jiných semestrů než těch stávajících, případně utvoření volitelného kurzu, kde by studenti mohli i libovolně absolvovat odborné praxe navíc, vzhledem k tomu, že se někteří domnívají, že je praxe v tomto rozmezí dostatečně na výkon této profese nepřipravila.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is about key competencies of students in full-time and combined form of study in the third year of the Social work field on Faculty of Social and Economic studies of the Jan Evangelista Purkyně university in Ústí nad Labem. The main goal of this thesis is to indetify the levels of key competencies according to students of the Social politics and social work programme, relating to requirements of employers and needs of targeted groups. The goal was achieved by using quantitative method along with survey containing the test of key competencies. The level of key competencies was compared with the results of another bachelor thesis made by Z. Kašpárková in 2019. Through the survey there was found, that the full-time students have got their level of key competencies above the average although the level of six key competencies have seen notable downgrade in the comparsion with Z. Kašpárková. Creativity is still below the average and students themselves feel that this competency has to be upgraded but also the ability to justify has been marked as below average. The benefit of this thesis are feasible changes and norms in the forms and ways of teaching within this study programme which are designed based on the gathered information. Changes are designed to increase the applicabillity of students in the labor market. Based on the results there are being suggested so called "brainstorming sessions" aiming specifically to improve creativity, but those sessions can help to improve other competencies aswell. Increasing the hours spent on internship, introduction of internship to other than current semesters or creation of optional course where the students could have more hours of internship are recommended, mainly according to the fact that most students think the internship in the current extent has not prepared them as much as they would need to start working in the social work field.
