Abstract:

Tato práce se soustřeďuje na vývoj a význam ornamentu a dekoru v průběhu 20. století, a to jak v grafickém designu, tak i v užitém umění, se kterým je ornament neodmyslitelně spjat. Je zaměřena na tvarosloví dekorativních prvků, kompozici, vlivy a vývoj užití dekoru a ornamentu v průběhu 20. století. Cílem práce je zmapovat problematiku ornamentu a dekoru vymezené doby, zásadní momenty vývoje a ukázat na bohatý zdroj ornamentálních a dekorativních forem vytvoře-ných v období, ze kterého dodnes mnozí grafici čerpají.

Abstract:

This work is concentrated on the development and the sence of ornament and decoration during 20th century in the graphic design and the applied arts which the ornament is connected with. It is concentrated on the morphology of decorative elements, the composition, the effects and the deve-lopment of using decoration and ornament during 20th century. The main object of this work is charting of ornament and decor in a given period, finding crucial moments of development, and pointing to the rich sources of ornamental and decorative forms created in the period from which many designers still draw on.
