International accounting standards for insurance companies and their implementation in the Czech Republic

Anotácia:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá souvislostmi s implementací mezinárodních účetních standardů do účetnictví pojišťoven v České republice. Teoretická část práce se z počátku věnuje charakteristice odvětví pojišťovnictví a současnému stavu účetnictví pojišťoven. Dále je pozornost zaměřena na regulatorní rámec Solvency II, který je základním právním a regulatorním předpisem pro pojišťovnictví na úrovni Evropské unie. Hlavním předmětem této práce jsou Mezinárodní standardy účetního výkaznictví IFRS a analýza dopadu jejich implementace do účtování pojišťoven (především dopady standardu IFRS 17). V praktické části jsou popsány nejzásadnější rozdílnosti ve vedení účetnictví podle mezinárodních účetních standardů (IFRS) a českých účetních standardů (ČÚS), zanalyzována situace na trhu v oblasti vedení účetnictví pojišťovnami a rozdílnost dopadů povinné implementace pro malé a velké pojišťovny. V závěru práce jsou vyhodnoceny přínosy připravované povinnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the context of the implementation of international accounting standards in the accounting of insurance companies in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the work is initially devoted to the characteristics of the insurance industry and the current state of accounting of insurance companies. Further, attention is focused on the Solvency II regulatory framework, which is the basic legal and regulatory directive for the insurance industry at the level of the European Union. The main subject of this thesis are the International accounting standards IFRS and the analysis of the impact of their implementation in the accounting of insurance companies (mainly the impact of the IFRS 17 standard). The practical part describes the most fundamental differences in accounting according to international accounting standards (IFRS) and Czech accounting standards (CAS), analyzes the market situation in the area of accounting by insurance companies and the difference in the impact of mandatory implementation for small and large insurance companies. At the end of the thesis, the benefits of the upcoming obligation are evaluated.
