Animal idioms in greek phraseology

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje řeckým frazémům obsahujícím názvy zvířat. První, teoretická část, která definuje základní pojmy týkající se tohoto tématu a věnuje se problematice překladu frazémů, je fundamentem pro navazující praktickou část. Cílem praktické části této práce je registrace a fixace řeckých faunických frazémů, jejichž seznam vznikl excerpcí z řeckých frazeologických slovníků. Tento korpus se stal základem pro řecko-český tematický frazeologický slovník, který je hlavním výstupem práce. Zvláštní pozornost je pak věnována řeckým kulturním frazémům s animalistickými komponenty a názvům zvířat, které se v řeckých frazémech vyskytují nejčastěji.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with Greek idioms that contain names of various animals. The first theoretical part, which defines the basic terms related to this topic and deals with the issue of translating idioms, is fundamental for the following practical part. The aim of this thesis is registration and fixation of Greek animal idioms list of which was created by excerpting from the Greek dictionaries of idiomatic expressions. This corpus has become the basis for the Greek-Czech thematic dictionary of idiomatic expressions based on animals which is the main output of this work. Particular attention is paid to Greek cultural idioms with animal elements and to the names of animals most frequently found in Greek idioms.
