Seniors as victims of crime

Abstract:

Z pohledu zdravotníka sleduji chování seniorů skoro třicet let. Tato práce nastíní obsáhlost hlavní problematiky seniorů dnešní doby, kterou je mezigenerační propast mezi generací, která žila v době totalitního režimu a generací, která žije ve vyspělém technologickém a internetovém světě. Tím, že se staří nechtějí přizpůsobovat moderním technologiím, stávají se zvlášť zranitelnými oběťmi kriminality. Velký rozdíl je mezi seniory žijící v malých či velkých obcích a v pečovatelských domech. Zneužívání, zanedbávání, psychické a fyzické týrání seniorů jsou fakta, která dnes již nejsou úplné tabu. Řešením je prevence kriminality a vytváření bezpečnostních plánů. Rodina se dnes stává kruhem bezpečí nebo kruhem domácího násilí. Přenos vzorců chování svých rodičů má značný vliv na výchovu svých dětí a vytvoření jejich osobnosti. Následná péče o zestárlé rodiče může mít negativní dopady z dětství ve formě odcizení, lhostejnosti a bezcitnosti.

Abstract:

From the perspective of a health professional, I have been following the behavior of seniors for almost thirty years. This thesis will outline the comprehensiveness of the main issue of seniors today, which is the intergenerational gap between the generation that lived under the totalitarian regime and the generation that lives in the advanced technological and Internet world. By refusing to adapt to modern technology, the elderly become particularly vulnerable victims of crime. using to adapt to modern technology, the elderly become particularly vulnerable victims of crime. There is a big difference between seniors living in small or large communities and in nursing homes. Abuse, neglect, psychological and physical abuse of the elderly are facts that are no longer completely taboo. The solution is crime prevention and creating security plans. Today, the family is becoming a circle of safety or a circle of domestic violence. The transmission of the behavior patterns of their parents has a considerable influence on the upbringing of their children and the formation of their personalities. Subsequent care for elderly parents can have negative childhood consequences in the form of alienation, indifference and callousness.
