Home as a place for living and dying

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá postoji sociálních pracovníků v domácím hospici k domovu jako místu umírání. Teoretická část práce popisuje sociálního pracovníka. Je zde představena popis postojů v jeho třech hlavních dimenzích. Práce dále poskytuje popis umírání a popisuje potřeby umírajících. V práci je definován pojem hospic – jsou zde charakterizována specifika hospicové péče a jednotlivé formy hospicové péče. Součástí práce je i kapitola o postavení a roli sociálního pracovníka v hospicovém týmu. V neposlední řadě je v práci popsán domov. V metodologické části diplomové práce je popsán způsob užití kvalitativní výzkumné strategie, zvláště proto, že pro tuto práci byla zvolena. Je zde uvedena operacionalizace, dále jednotka zjišťování, technika sběru dat a průběh výzkumu. V poslední části práce je provedena analýza a interpretace dat, která pomohla k ujasnění postojů sociálních pracovníků k domovu jako místu umírání. Závěr práce se zabývá zodpovězením hlavní výzkumné otázky prostřednictvím odpovědí na výzkumné otázky dílčí.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with what attitudes social workers have in context with home as a place for dying. The theoretical part describes social worker. There is also a description of attitudes in its main three dimensions. Diploma thesis also provides dying and describes all needs of dying people. Thesis brings a definition of hospice – in this chapter we can find a features of hospice care and several forms of hospice care. Diploma thesis includes a chapter about social worker´s role in hospice team. Finally, there is a description of home. In the methodological part, there is a description of using the qualitative research strategy, because this type of strategy is used for this thesis. This part of thesis includes operationalization, observation unit, further data collection technique and the process of research. The last part provides an analysis and the interpretation of the data that helped to illustrate social worker´s attitudes to home as a place for dying. The conclusion is devoted to answer the main research questions thanks to the answers of component research questions.
