The Position of Women Within the French Society and the French Language Before and After the French Revolution

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the position of women in France in society and in the French language. A turning point was set in the work, namely the French Revolution, which was crucial for the position of women in French society. The work is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the position of women in society in France before, during and after the French Revolution and chronologically describes its development and history. The second part deals with documents that have had a major impact on the position of women in society, but also on language. In the last part of the thesis, we deal with feminization and the development of the French language. The purpose of the bachelor thesis is not only to systematically and chronologically describe the history and development of the social status of women and language, but also to emphasize the fact that throughout history only one gender has been discriminated against, namely the female one.

Abstract:

Le mémoire de licence porte sur la place de la femme en France dans la société et en langue française. Le travail établit un tournant, ? savoir la Révolution française, qui a été cruciale pour la position de la femme dans la société française. Le travail est divisé en trois parties. La premi?re partie traite de la place des femmes dans la société en France avant, pendant et apr?s la Révolution française et décrit chronologiquement son évolution et son histoire. La deuxi?me partie traite des documents qui ont eu un impact majeur sur la position des femmes dans la société mais aussi dans la langue. Dans la derni?re partie du travail, nous traitons de la féminisation et du développement du langage française. Le but du mémoire de licence n'est pas seulement de décrire systématiquement et chronologiquement l'histoire et l'évolution du statut social des femmes et du langage, mais aussi de souligner le fait que, tout au long de l'histoire, un seul sexe a été victime de discrimination, ? savoir le féminin.
