Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivy a rolemi kočky domácí v kulturní krajině. Konkrétně se zabývá problematikou hybridizace kočky divoké (Felis silvestris) s její domestikovanou příbuznou kočkou domácí (Felis catus). V práci jsou podrobně shrnuty pozitivní a negativní vlivy predace kočkou domácí a přenos onemocnění, kterými mohou kočky ohrožovat i jiné živočichy včetně člověka. Jsou zde popsány parazitární choroby přenášené predací, dále pak bakteriální choroby a vzteklina. V práci jsou také popsána dílčí témata jako původ a domestikace koček, početnost koček domácích v chovech a ve volné přírodě. V práci jsou nadále zpracovány informace o možných preventivních opatřeních, díky kterým můžeme omezovat populace volně žijících koček. K řešení byly použity zahraniční odborné články, knihy a odborná literatura. Na základě zhodnocení výsledků rolí volně žijících populací kočky domácí z hlediska nemocí, bioregulace a ochrany přírody bylo zjištěno, že kočky jsou zodpovědné za likvidaci populací mnoha druhů živočichů, a to zejména na ostrovech predací endemických druhů. Predace zároveň snižuje populace hlodavců. Kvůli antropogenní hybridizaci kočka domácí spolu s dalšími faktory ohrožuje populace chráněných koček divokých. Neustálý nárůst počtu koček s sebou nese rovněž rizika vyššího výskytu chorob. Pomocí daných opatření a příslušných kroků můžeme populace koček eliminovat a usilovat tak o ochranu přírody.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the effects and roles of the domestic cat in cultural landscapes. Specifically, it addresses the issue of hybridization of the wild cat (Felis silvestris) with its domesticated relative the feral domestic cat (Felis catus). The positive and negative effects of predation by the domestic cat and the transmission of diseases that can threaten other animals, including humans, are summarized in detail. Parasitic diseases transmitted by predation are described, as well as bacterial diseases and rabies. Sub-topics such as the origin and domestication of cats, the abundance of domestic cats in breeding and in the wild are also discussed. The thesis continues to elaborate on possible preventive measures that can be taken to reduce the population of feral cats. Foreign scientific articles, books and literature have been used. Based on the assessment of the roles of feral domestic cat populations in terms of disease, bioregulation and conservation, it was found that cats are responsible for the destruction of populations of many species, especially on islands by predation of endemic species. Predation also reduces rodent populations. Due to anthropogenic hybridization, the feral domestic cat, along with other factors, threatens populations of protected wild cats. The continued increase in the number of cats also carries risks of increased disease occurrence. By taking appropriate measures and actions, we can eliminate cat populations and strive to protect nature.
