Abstract:

Disertační práce se věnuje problematice zprostředkování současného výtvarného umění, jeho interpretaci a vizuální komunikaci z pozice kurátora umění. Zaměřuje se na roli kurátora současného umění, jehož prací je vybranou formou zprostředkovat umění publiku a zároveň vytvářet vhodný komunikační a interpretační most mezi uměleckým dílem a publikem. Práce se z několika úhlů pohledů zaměřuje na aktuální pozici kurátora současného umění v uměleckém i společensko-kulturním prostředí a sleduje postupnou proměnu a inovaci kurátorských přístupů k prezentaci aktuálního umění. Pozornost je věnována především historickému vývoji kurátorských strategií od období postmoderny po současnost a aspektům jejich inovace. Pomocí příkladů vybraných českých, zahraničních i vlastních výstavních projektů jsou kurátorské přístupy blíže analyzovány, popisovány a klasifikovány. Pozornost je obrácena i na samotný proces tvorby výstavy a vzájemnou trajektorii vztahů mezi umělcem, uměleckým dílem, kurátorským subjektem a širším socio-kulturním kontextem. Kurátor se dnes pomocí zvoleného kontextu prezentace sám může stát tvůrcem, neboť jeho prací je vytvořit způsobem selekce a nalezením nových souvislostí nový produkt - výstavu, jež se může stát odrazem dění v současném výtvarném světě stejně jako ve společnosti, ve které aktuální umění vzniká a v níž žijeme.

Abstract:

The dissertation deals with the issue of contemporary visual art mediation, its interpretation and visual communication from the position of a curator of art. It focuses on the role of the curator of contemporary art who chooses a form through which he/she mediates the art to the audience and at the same time builds a suitable communication and interpretation bridge between the artwork and the audience. The dissertation provides several points of view focusing on the current position of a curator of contemporary art in an artistic and sociocultural environment and monitors the gradual transformation and innovation of curatorial approaches to the presentation of contemporary art. The dissertation focuses mainly on the historical development of curatorial strategies from post modernism to the present day and monitors the aspects of their innovation. The author uses the examples of chosen Czech, foreign and own exhibition projects to analyse, describe and classify the curatorial approaches more closely. Attention is also paid to the process of creating an exhibition itself and the mutual trajectory of relations among the curator, the artwork, the curatorial subject and the broader sociocultural context. The curator becomes the author himself/herself through the chosen context of presentation these days, because his job is to create a new product using the artworks, i.e., an exhibition that reflects what is happening in the art world today as well as the society in which the current art is created, the society we live in.
