Impact of back pain on daily activities of patients

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit vliv bolesti zad na denní aktivity pacientů. Současně bylo cílem zjistit, zda pacienti využívají léčebných prostředků k odstranění či zmírnění bolesti. Bakalářská práce je dělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část obsahuje tři hlavní kapitoly. V první kapitole je popsáno, jak dělíme bolest, léčba bolesti, diagnostika a příčiny a také je věnována pozornost vertebrogennímu algickému syndromu. Druhá kapitola poukazuje na denní aktivity pacientů s bolestmi zad, vliv bolesti na denní aktivity a obsahuje také ukázky metod testování a jak souvisí psychické funkce s bolestí. Třetí kapitola je zaměřena na rehabilitační a cvičební programy a roli všeobecné sestry při hodnocení a diagnostice bolesti zad. Praktická část je věnována samotnému průzkumu a jeho výsledkům. Metodika: Průzkum má charakter kvantitativního šetření. Zkoumaným souborem bylo 91 respondentů. Jako metoda sběru dat byl využit standardizovaný dotazník Oswestry (Oswestry Disability Index, ODI), který hodnotí omezení běžných denních aktivit a vyjadřuje míru disability pacienta. Dotazník je zaměřen na to, do jaké míry ovlivňují bolesti zad každodenní aktivity pacientů. Průzkum byl proveden v období od 1. listopadu 2013 do 31. ledna 2014 na neurologické ambulanci oddělení centrálního příjmu ve FNO. Výsledky: Výsledky průzkumu ukazují, že bolest ovlivňuje pacienty ve větší či menší míře v každé z jednotlivých zkoumaných aktivit. Téměř 40% pacientů patří do kategorie tzv. mírné disability. Celých 31% pak spadá do střední míry disability. Výsledky výzkumu také ukazují, že četnost užívání léků je poměrně vysoká, až 72,5%. Závěr: Bolesti zad jsou nejrozšířenější civilizační chorobou. Je potřeba se začít intenzivně zamýšlet nad prevencí bolesti zad k zajištění plnohodnotnějšího života, neboť bolesti zad mají vliv na každodenní aktivity pacientů a utvářejí tak kvalitu pacientova života.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to determine the effect of back pain on daily activities of patients. At the same time the aim was to determine whether patients use medical resources to eliminate or alleviate pain. Bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical. The theoretical part consists of three main chapters. The first chapter describes how to divide the pain, pain treatment, diagnosis and causes and also paid attention vertebral algic syndrome. The second chapter shows the daily activities of patients with back pain, the effect of pain on daily activities and also contains examples of methods of testing and how it relates to mental function with pain. The third chapter focuses on rehabilitation and exercise programs and the role of nurses in the assessment and diagnosis of back pain. The practical part is devoted to the survey and its results. Methods: The practical part presents the results of a survey questionnaire survey using a standardized questionnaire ODI. The questionnaire is focused on to what extent affect back pain patients in daily activities. The survey was conducted during the period from 1 November 2013 to 31 January 2014 at the central reception at the neurological clinic at the University Hospital. The research sample consisted of a total of 91 respondents. As a method of data collection was used Oswestry questionnaire (Oswestry Disability Index, ODI), which assesses the limitations of daily activities and reflects the degree of disability of the patient. Results: The results of the survey show that pain affects patients to a greater or lesser extent in each of the particular activities. Almost 40% of the patients belong to the category. Mild disability. As many as 31% then falls to the middle level of disability. The research results also show that the frequency of medication use is relatively high, up 72.5%. Conclusion: Back pain is the most common diseases of civilization. You need to begin to think about the intense back pain prevention to ensure plnohodnotnějšího life because of back pain affect the daily activities of patients and thus shape the patient's quality of life.
