Lean startup and MVP in the traditional approach to IT management

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou řízení IT v prostředí vývojových startupů. Rostoucí potřeba interního vývoje softwaru, který se stává finálním produktem firmy, vede k tlaku na efektivní a inovativní vývoj a metodiky. Tradiční přístupy k řízení IT (ITIL 4, COBIT) a agilní metodiky jako Scrum jsou zde konfrontovány s principy The Lean Startup. Cílem práce je navrhnout inovativní přístup, který integruje prvky obou světů a zajistí synergický efekt. Práce nejprve definuje výchozí stav poznání pomocí literární rešerše a následně navrhuje novou metodiku na míru konkrétnímu startupu. Implementace metodiky je demonstrována na vybraných příkladech z praxe a je ověřena formou rozhovorů se členy týmu, pro které byla navržena.

Abstract:

This thesis addresses the issue of IT management in the environment of software development startups. The growing need for internal software development which becomes the final product of a company leads to pressure for efficient and innovative development and methodologies. Traditional approaches to IT management (ITIL 4, COBIT) and agile methodologies such as Scrum are confronted here with the principles of The Lean Startup. The aim of the paper is to propose an innovative approach that integrates elements of both worlds and ensures synergy. The thesis first defines the initial state of knowledge through a literature review and then proposes a new methodology tailored to a specific startup. The implementation of the methodology is demonstrated through selected real-life examples and validated through interviews with the team members for whom it was designed.
