Story of cheater from Ostrava - narative criminology

Abstract:

Narativní kriminologie patří mezi poměrně nové směry ve zkoumání pachatelů trestných činů. Narativní kriminologové se zajímají o to, jak jednotlivci nebo skupiny interpretují a vyprávějí o svém zapojení do trestné činnosti, jak se jim v ní dařilo a jaký to na ně mělo vliv. Cílem mé práce je s využitím dosavadních poznatků o kriminologické naraci interpretovat dva narativy jednoho respondenta, který byl odsouzen za organizované krácení daní. Prvním zkoumaným narativem bude hloubkový rozhovor vedený s respondentem ve vězení, druhým respondentův deník, který napsal ve vazbě po svém zadržení policisty. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. V první se věnuji teoretickému vymezení narativů a narativní kriminologii. V druhé jde o analýzu artikulovaného narativu a ve třetí části práce se budu věnovat interpretaci psaného narativu.

Abstract:

Narrative criminology is one of the relatively new directions in the investigation of criminal offenders. Narrative criminologists are interested in how individuals or groups interpret and talk about their involvement in the crime, how they managed it and how it would affect them. The aim of my work is to interpret the two narratives of one respondent who was convicted of organized tax evasion with the use of existing knowledge about narrative criminology. The first narrative will be examined by in-depth interviews with a respondent in prison. The second narrative will be respondent's diary, which he wrote in custody after his arrest by police officers. The work is divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to theoretical definition of narratives and narrative criminology. In the second part, I will analyse the articulated narrative and in the third part, I will interpret the written narrative.
