A relation between spirituality and aspects of prosocial behaviour of social workers

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je věnována oblasti spirituality a prosociálního chování ve vztahu k sociální práci. Teoretická část obsahuje definice jednotlivých aspektů spirituality a prosociálního chování, třídí, popisuje, a vysvětluje jejich příčiny. Navíc je doplněna o teoretický přehled z oblasti sociální práce, definicí sociálního pracovníka, jeho kompetencemi a spiritualitou v jeho životě. Výzkumná část obsahuje dotazníkové šetření provedené na souboru sociálních pracovnic, jehož hlavním cílem bylo zjistit, zda existuje vztah mezi spiritualitou a prosociálním chováním. Soubor sociálních pracovnic byl porovnáván se souborem pracovnic, které tvořili respondentky z komerčních firem. Prostřednictvím dílčích cílů jsou hledány statistické rozdíly v jednotlivých dimenzích spirituality a prosociálního chování v souvislosti s demografickými údaji. V závěru práce je obsaženo zhodnocení výsledků, které je podrobeno diskuzi. Výzkumné šetření ukázalo, že mezi dílčími oblastmi prosociálního chování a dílčími oblastmi spirituality existuje statisticky významný vztah u obou souborů. Zejména pomoc v krizových situacích měla statisticky významný vztah s většinou dílčích oblastí spirituality. Ve výzkumu se taktéž projevil vztah dílčích složek empatie a dílčích oblastí spirituality. Jako více homogenní, s menším počtem rozdílů, se projevil soubor sociálních pracovnic ? oproti souboru pracovnic z komerční sféry.

Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to the field of spirituality and prosocial behavior in relation to social work. The theoretical part contains definitions of various aspects of spirituality and prosocial behavior, it classifies, describes and explains their cause. It is also supplemented with a theoretical overview of the field of social work, the definition of a social worker, his competence and spirituality in his life. The practical part contains a survey carried out on a group of social workers. The main objective was to determine whether there is a relationship between spirituality and prosocial behavior. Group of social workers was compared with a group of workers who worked in commercial companies. By the means of specific objectives are sought statistical differences in the dimensions of spirituality and prosocial behavior in the context of demographic data. The conclusion contains the evaluation of results, which is subjected to discussion. The survey revealed that among the sub-regions of prosocial behavior and particular areas of spirituality there is a statistically significant relationship in both groups. In particular, assistance in emergency situations had statistically a significant relationship with the majority of sub-areas of spirituality. The research also showed that there is a relationship between particular aspects of empathy and particular aspects of spirituality. The group of social workers turned out to be more homogeneous, with fewer differences - as opposed to the group of workers from the commercial sector
