Geopolitical view of Israel's energy security, with special regard to the impact of terrorism

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem energetické bezpečností Izraele, avšak se zvláštním přihlédnutím ke specifikům, která v tamním turbulentním prostředí panují. Konkrétně ve vztahu k fenoménu terorismu jako případného zdroje hrozeb pro místní surovinové dodávky i pro rostoucí mezinárodní surovinovou pozici Izraele. V textu jsou zohledněny složité vazby mezi Izraelci a Palestinci a rovněž geografické umístění – obklopení nepřátelskými národy. K dosažení výše popsaných cílů bakalářské práce byla stanoveny dvě výzkumné otázka o dvou bodech: 1. „Jakým způsobem zajišťuje Izrael dostatek dodávek energie pro své obyvatelstvo?“ 2. „Jaké to vyvolává odezvy v rámci sousedství s teroristickými entitami?“ Bakalářská práce usiluje o nalezení odpovědi na tyto otázky pomocí metod kvalitativního výzkumu.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of energy security in Israel, but with special attention to the peculiarities that prevail in the turbulent environment there. Specifically, in relation to the phenomenon of terrorism as a potential source of threat to both local raw material supplies and Israel's growing international raw material position. The text takes into consideration the complex ties between Israelis and Palestinians as well as the geographical location – surrounded by hostile nations. To achieve the objectives described above, the thesis set out a two-point research question, 1. "How does Israel ensure sufficient energy supplies for its population?" 2. "What responses does this elicit within the neighbourhood with terrorist entities?" The bachelor thesis seeks to find answers to these questions using qualitative research methods.
