The perception of green hotel activities and their impact on the hotels' guests

Abstract:

Dynamický růst životního rytmu, urbanizace společnosti a technický pokrok způsobily větší zájem lidí o otázky životního prostředí a šetrný přístup k přírodním zdrojům. Tato tendence měla vliv na velké množství odvětví, včetně toho na cestovní ruch a sektor pohostinství. Stále více hotelů se začalo věnovat ekologickým aktivitám a jedním z nich je český čtyřhvězdičkový hotel Zámek Berštejn, který je analyzován v této bakalářské práce. Jejím cílem je vytvoření doporučení, která zlepší vybraný hotel z ekologického hlediska a posílí jeho stávající zelené aktivity, a to ve vazbě na jejich vnímání hotelovými hosty a jejich využití v rámci marketingu ubytovacího zařízení. Teoretická část práce metodou literární rešerše uvádí klíčové informace na téma ekologického hotelnictví, provozu zelených hotelů a vlivu jejich aktivit na hosty. V analytické části je proveden vlastní výzkum, a to metodou dotazníkového šetření s hosty hotelu Zámek Berštejn. Jeho prostřednictvím se analyzuje vnímání zelených aktivit osobami pobývajícími v hotelu a jejich názor na zelené činnosti obecně. V návrhové části jsou představena doporučení, která mají přispět naplnění cílů bakalářské práce.

Abstract:

Dynamic growth of the rhythm of life and the urbanization of society and technical progress have made people more interested in environmental issues and friendly access to natural resources. This trend has affected a large number of sectors, including tourism and the hospitality sector. More and more hotels began to engage in ecological activities. Czech four-star hotel Zámek Berštejn, which is analysed in this bachelor's thesis, is one of them. Main goal of this thesis is to create recommendations that will improve the selected hotel from an ecological point of view and strengthen its existing green activities, in relation to their perception by hotel guests and their use in the marketing of the accommodation facility. The theoretical part of the work by the method of literary research presents key information on the topic of ecological hotel management, operation of green hotels and the impact of their activities on guests. In the analytical part, author's research is carried out, using the method of a questionnaire survey with the guests of the hotel Zámek Berštejn. It analyses the perception of green activities by hotel guests and their opinion on green activities in general. The design section presents recommendations to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the bachelor thesis.
