The Women Characters in the Novel Chanson douce by Leïla Slimani

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of two main female characters of the novel Chanson douce by Leïla Slimani. The first part presents the approach to the problem of a character by Vincent Jouve as well as the concept by Philippe Hamon. The next chapter describes the story of the novel and compares is to the real event which served as a source of inspiration to the author. Then there are presented two main female characters, their psychology and behaviour in specific situations. The last chapter focuses on finding the reason why the nanny named Louise killed the childred who she looked after as well as on a potential determination of a particular impulse because of which she committed this crime.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou dvou hlavních ženských postav románu Chanson douce od Leïly Slimani. V první části je představen přístup Vincenta Jouva a také zmíněn koncept Philippa Hamona. Další kapitola popisuje děj románu a porovnává ho s reálnou událostí, která se pro autorku stala zdrojem inspirace. Dále jsou zde představeny osobnosti dvou hlavních ženských postav, jejich psychologie a chování v určitých situacích. Poslední část se soustřeďuje na nalezení důvodu, proč chůva jménem Louise zabila děti, o které se starala, a na to, zda lze určit konkrétní podnět, kvůli kterému tento čin spáchala.
