Biomechanics of cross-country skiing on synthetic surfaces

Abstract:

Běžecké lyžování je považováno za náročný vytrvalostní sport, který je především závislý na správné technice. Rozlišujeme 2 typy běhu na lyžích. Klasickou techniku a techniku bruslení. Tyto dva typy mají spoustu dalších pod technik, které sportovec při své jízdě může využít a libovolně je kombinovat podle náročnosti terénu v závislosti na druhu povrchu. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 8 participantů, z toho 6 mužů v průměrném věku (39,33 ? 6,66) a 2 ženy s průměrným věkem (25,5 ? 4,5), kteří se dlouhodobě věnují běžeckému lyžování. Cílem práce bude posoudit změny kinematických parametrů běhu na lyžích klasickou technikou na různých typech umělého povrchu. Participanti byli vybráni na základě zkušeností s běžeckým lyžováním, ale nezáleželo zde na jejich technice či závodních zkušenostech. Podmínkou bylo mít alespoň tříletou praxi ve vedení metodické výuky běhu na lyžích. Byla provedena kinematická analýza střídavého běhu dvoudobého na různých typech povrchu a následně byli participanti dotazováni na subjektivní hodnocení pásu a skluznosti lyží. Z výsledků vyplývají jako nejvhodnější a zároveň nejlépe subjektivně hodnocené dva pásy. Tedy modifikovaný pás s označením HM1 - s nejkratší délkou vlasu. U nemodifikovaných pásů byl jako nejlépe hodnocený povrch s označením H6 - se střední délkou vlasu. Mezi nejvíce preferovanými povrchy H6 a HM1 nebyly zjištěny žádné věcně významné rozdíly. Největší rozdíl byl v maximu úhlu hlezenního kloubu na pravé dolní končetině, ale pouze s malým efektem (ES = 0,43).

Abstract:

Cross-country skiing is considered to be a demanding endurance sport that depends primarily on proper technique. There are 2 types of cross-country skiing. Classical technique and skating technique. These two types have a lot of other sub techniques that the athlete can use during his/her run and combine them freely depending on the difficulty of the terrain type. The cohort consisted of 8 participants, 6 males with a mean age (39.33 ? 6.66) and 2 females with a mean age (25.5 ? +- 4.5), who have been involved in cross country skiing for a long time. The aim of this study will be to assess the changes in kinematic parameters of cross-country skiing with classical technique on different types of artificial surfaces. The assessment of differences in lower limb kinematics during classical technique cross-country running on tracks is one of the main objectives of this study. Furthermore, the different belts are compared according to the feelings of the tested person. The participants were selected based on their cross-country skiing experience, but their technique or racing experience did not matter here. The condition was to have at least three years of experience in teaching cross-country skiing methodologically. A kinematic analysis of alternating two-stroke cross-country skiing on different surface types was performed, and then participants were asked to objectively evaluate the belt and the slipperiness of the skis. The methodology involved experimental ski runs on an artificial surface with detailed data collection using 3D cameras that capture whole-body motion. Biomechanical parameters, including joint angles, are analyzed. 10 Qualisys high-speed cameras were used to record the kinematic analysis. The results show two strips as the most appropriate and also the best subjectively evaluated. That is, the modified strip with the designation HM1 - with the shortest hair length. For the unmodified strips, the surface with the designation H6 - with medium pile length - was rated as the best. No substantively significant differences were found between the most preferred H6 and HM1 surfaces. The largest difference was in the maximum ankle joint angle on the right lower limb, but with only a small effect (ES = 0.43).
